Browsing the interwebs, I came across this door mount for promaster spare tire:

They also have a bracket with LED's to relocate the license plate:

Yes this is the exact tire carrier we use and sell. Reach out with questions or if you wish to purchase.

its not a priority of mine for now, but I do have some ideas about utilizing the spare tire space underneath.

I like that these brackets have those lower tensioner rods.

Have you heard any feedback from customers as far as stress on the rear hinges over time?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I wanted to report that I got the Landed Gear tire carrier installed at their shop in San Diego yesterday. The product is solid and their customer service is incredible. My requirements were to have it solidly mounted on the drivers' side door and as low profile and as low on the door as possible. This fulfills all of my requirements. They placed this mount as low as possible. Looks like I could still go lower a couple inches while still clearing bumper but that would require custom fabrication (which they offered). Very happy with this product and my experience and happy to answer any questions.

How has this been holding up?

It’s been holding up really well. I haven’t needed it yet but the peace of mind is well worth it. Took the spare off once when I was figuring out some fitment for towing. I’ve only taken the van out on paved roads but I’d have no doubt it would hold up just fine off road.

It matches close enough. No issues with fitment.

Thanks for bringing this thread back. We are testing a new tire carrier for the Promaster that we will be selling in the very near future. It mounts to the passenger side rear door.

Have you started marketing this bracket?

Still doing good with the weight hanging off of the door?

Everything points to the rear hinges are beefy.

I'll just stick this here,
gas strut assisted, an idea for a diy version

That photo caused my noggin to instantly start chugging. Put folding legs where his hand is so that it lowers to be a stable table—flat surface goes behind/above tire. This also means you can leave it lowered in camp for an unobstructed view.
