Are you saying every single PM comes with all the security alarm system hardware installed and it's just a matter of flipping a switch (via OBD) to turn it on? If so, I paid $200 for the "option" just to have the factory flip a switch for me.

Yes, its simple as enabling it from the dealer or alfaOBD. Its not a fancy alarm system, it relies on the door sensor to trigger the alarm so ram didn't have to add anything to make it work beside simple software code. There is no vibration or window sensor with the factory alarm.

So, yes, I paid $200 just for the factory to flip a switch? Not mad, just a little disappointed.

Yeah, it sure seems so. If I'd known this when I factory ordered, I could have skipped it and invested the $200 in an AlphaOBD instead.

If you are lucky, you can find a grey one all by itself, without buying the entire colour palette.
