2024 packages

As other posts have said, 2024 is all about the trim package. So no more add-on 220 amp alternator. It is now in the Power package. Which is not a bad deal:
220 Amp, 100 Amp Battery, 12V Rear Aux Power outlet, 115 V Aux Power Outlet. I only wanted the alternator but the package is $195 so okay.

The standard cruise control is not available at all. You can get a Safety (aka convenience?) package that has adaptive cruise control for $845 . That package includes a bunch of mirror stuff and lamps stuff. You can alternatively get the cruise in an intelligent speed assist option in a different trim. I don't know what that costs.

Swivel seat option is the same as in 2023 (leather, both seats). It requires either the SLT or + trim I think.

You can't get extra key fobs at all. It is on the options sheet but box to check is grayed out. Dealer didn't know why.

The trim levels are Tradesman, SLT, and SLT Plus.

The full size spare tire is available stand-alone with carrier. Has anyone found that was needed? I've had plenty of flats. I've never tried that injector liquid thing. My concern is that I'm losing clearance space underneath the van.

Here are basic package prices for high roofs:
136 1500 : $49,170 (Tradesman trim)
136 2500: $51,000
159 2500: $51,620

SLT trim: $2,995
SLT Plus trim: $6,995

At the moment, it looks like only 1 extra on my order: Power group and maybe spare tire.

I'll let my foot do the driving instead of cruise as I only wanted standard cruise. I may regret that.
I'll not get the fixed window on slider door. That didn't seem to be an option in the Tradesman trim.
I wanted the key fobs but can't get them.

I considered the leather trim steering wheel but that must be in one of the other trims for 2024.

I have the option sheets but it's a lot of jpg images to upload.

Just get the stock swivel, and save the headaches of swapping to an aftermarket. The OEM swivel is quite nice to use. We didn’t need leather to get it, just both needed to be the six-way adjustable.

As for the spare, not sure what you mean by carrier? We have the spare option in our 2023 and it’s just tucked up into the frame. Not sure why clearance would be an issue.

My how things have changed since we ordered in 2017. It sucks they've gone solely to packages. There were a few packages in 2017, but you could still order most stuff individually. I would still get cruise, and I love my leather steering wheel.

Call me old fashion ('cuz I am), but I feel safer carrying a full-size spare. The under-mount doesn't affect ground clearance at all. It only takes up space for mounting (too many) other things underneath (fresh tank, grey tank, generator, etc). On a 159, there is plenty of room for at least one of those without skipping the spare. We just have a grey tank underneath.

  1. From what I have seen of aftermarket swivel seats, I am not impressed. Factory Swivels are very much worth it & the passenger seat also for resale value.
  2. Power Package - Very much worth it for the 220amp alternator (the rest meh 🤷‍♂️)
  3. Adapted Cruise - No “There are Bugs” ,,, maybe aftermarket cruise maybe
  4. Extra FOBs are worth it if you can sort that out
  5. Spare Tire - Yes depending on price & need - clearance should not be an issue as the rear axel is lower - you do loose under chassis “space” if you were to mount a tank under in that location.

For our 2021 order the must haves were;
  1. Factory Swivel “both seats”
  2. Leather steering wheel
  3. 220 amp Alternator
  4. Black steel wheels
  5. & Mrs. insisted on that overhead shelf 🙄 ,,, that cost $500 as some sort if package
  6. 4 total (2 extra) Key FOBs
  7. Security Alarm - hard to beat the factory alarm system.

The leather steering wheel doesn't seem to be an option anywhere. It's not even in the $7000 SLT+ package.

Black steel wheels - was that for cosmetic reasons?

Hi,
No window in the slider is dangerous for some kinds of intersections, so if you don't order it from the factory with the slider window, figure on adding it yourself.

I agree with Steve on the spare. I'd not be without one and it really does not cut down on your ground clearance.
I also have one mounted on the back door for really out there trips. Mine is a DIY, but there are commercial kits for mounting the spare on the door. Its actually easier and the mechanism is more reliable than the oem spare and winch.

I would never be without cruise, but I guess that's a personal choice. I also like the blind spot warning we have on our other car if they offer that now.

We use the shelf over the cab seats a lot - not sure how we would get along without it.

On the 2022/2023 vans the active driving assist (the one with ISA) came with a leather wheel and money wise made sense as the leather wheel and basic cruise control was almost the same price as just getting the driving assistance package.

I would get the driving assist/ACC. If Ram is offering it again they probably got it sorted out. It used the same hardware (camera, ABS pump, electric power steering) that was already in the van so it was mostly enabled with software. That lead my to believe they stopped offering it for 2 years because they knew it was broken, not because of part availability.

@jmangarland I'm about ready to call your dealer in Maine. Mine has been a bear to work with. Half of what she says isn't even logical. If she messes up one more time, I'm calling yours. I belatedly found out I don't have to go to the ordering dealer to pick it up (Maine). :) Wish I'd known that sooner.

Updated: dealer now says it will have to be a $3000 non-refundable deposit. Ugh! She claims she had "foggy brain".
No way in hell I'd do that. Run as fast as you can from that dealer.

If you’re anywhere near Beaver Springs, PA call Beaver Motors and ask for Joe. The guy knows his stuff, is high volume, and will def get you the van.
Another option in PA is Chapman RAM in Horsham. I dealt with the fleet team (Jerry (Gerald)). Got invoice pricing, no deposit, price protection, no commitment to take delivery. They knew they could sell for more if I didn't take it. Great experience.

Basically got told the same message. “I’m giving you this price b/c I can, and I don’t need your sale.” A very blunt honest way of getting across “this van is selling with or without you”. Which in the end I‘ll always take honest and forward approach over “Well leave 5K down and let me see what I can do”. I also had to put no money down and no delivery fee. They charged me $200 for the “processing” or whatever.

My dealer in Oregon did not want any deposit as he said that if I change my mind, he would have no trouble selling it.
I absolutely insisted that he take a deposit as I did not want to lose this order. I put down $1000. (on a 2023 order last year.)

Just order every option that's available, you will regret it down the road if you don't. I reserved a Hummer EV 2 1/2 years ago. GM just called me last week to actually order it. I got every thing. I ordered a HR promaster Last November due in next week got everything. I can't wait.

Just going to follow up on this post about 2024 promasters - Here we are at the end of 2024, beginning of 2025 calendar year. There are 2024 promasters of all trim levels sitting on dealer lots. Pricing can be up to $10.5-12K off of MSRP. In regards to packages and so on. There are three trim levels - Tradesman, SLT, and SLT+. They are differentiated on what is included at a base level - Tradesman with either a 22A or 22B package and then SLT with 22G and SLT+ with 22H.

This following applies to Tradesman level. In regards to cruise control, you have to get the ACC, but you can turn off ACC and just run regular cruise control if you don't like the adjustable part. If you don't need bells and whistles, then just get a tradesman with 22B which includes the passenger seat, the convience group, which includes ACC along with heated and folding power mirrors, push button start. Spare tire is $295 and you can also get the power group, which includes the larger alternator (it's $495) could also get a composite floor, hitch.... For any kind of conversion, I think it best that you do your own windows unless you want a full window van - and those are out there.
Basically, Ram has gone to packages vs a straight ala carte menu, so you don't have as much flexibility, but the packages mostly make sense and don't give you too much fluff.

So, vans are available again, even plentiful and prices are more reasonable, but it's not like 2020 before covid - never will be. Some sanity in pricing has returned.
