Hi @MsNomer, how is your Velit furnace install going? I'm about to start shopping for a gas heater and would love to get a review. Thanks.

This is a “Prime Example” of a “Forum Gem” of information.Sending unit is under the cover on the floor between the seats. You need this and about a 2’ cheater bar. Unlike Transit, fuel tank stays put.

Agreed! @Misnomer has saved many of us from ourselves. (Sent from our Promaster on the Gulf Shore)This is a “Prime Example” of a “Forum Gem” of information.
Not something I need ( right now ), but your post here @MsNomer does not escape my admiration & praise !!
Not to exclude the Many Excellent Forum Members that post “Forum Gems”, as there are many.
I assume this is “exactly” what @Belugapilot needed to see, to “get the concept”.
What happened with this? Did you resolve the issue? We are looking to buy a Velit heater as well…New ECU on the way, too bad I'm leaving for a month on Tuesday.
They sent the new ecu, simple to change out. No issues since then. I would assume the new units now shipping already have this fix. Overall, happy with the heater and would buy again. What happened with this? Did you resolve the issue? We are looking to buy a Velit heater as well…
That’s great. Thanks. I want it to work at high altitude - we are going to hike the Appalachian Trail in January 2025. And the Pacific Crest Trail after that. This van will be our trailhead vehicle. What accessories did you have to order if any for the install? We don’t have any heater installed. They sent the new ecu, simple to change out. No issues since then. The only thing I used besides the supplied accessories was this turret plate to get through the floor. Turret Mount Plate Heater Floor Base Amazon.comThat’s great. Thanks. Again, thanks for responding. Glad it worked out.
Thanks for that info. We just placed our order with Velit and I responded asking about the wall mount thermostat. Also that turret looks like a good idea. Any chance you could post pics of your install? Or maybe you have already? I went to MsNomers build webpage but didn’t see anything about their install. I mounted mine right in front of the wheel on the slider side. A little tight here but doable. Mine is under the bottom of a cabinet.
Velit says they are coming out with a new wall mounted thermostat. It would be worth inquiring if it is available, the original version I have is by far the weakest link of the heater.

There is a 5 week backorder on this but I won’t need to install until mid to late October anyway.
Have you used it at high altitude? Manual says using Promaster aux fuel port will be a problem above 5000 feet.I used the existing standpipe that comes on your vans tank. The heater came with a fitting for this standpipe. Some people say the existing standpipe has too large of a diameter for the pump to draw, but I have had no issues at all.
Super cool man! Well if we don’t have to mess with a new standpipe that works for me.🙏😁😎Used it at Jacob lake Arizona, about 7900 feet. No issues.
No reply yet. I’ll post if they do.Did they say anything about the new thermostat?

We have the same turret and we're getting ready to install on driver side under where our galley is going.View attachment 109060

I drilled a 5.25" hole through my flooring, insulation, and the metal van floor, the turret acts as a sleeve in that hole.
How did you run the 12v wiring to the fuel pump? Do you just drill an extra hole in the turret and route it thru?View attachment 110911
I used the hole saw to drill through the plywood floor, insulation, and van metal floor.
Then attach the turret to the heater, secure all tubes and hoses to the heater, feed all those through the hole and screw the turret to the plywood. From underneath I sealed between the OD of the turret and the van floor with silicone. You could also put a bead of silicone under the flat plate of the turret before screwing it down but I didn't.
