I think you might be overthinking this a bit. I’ve done 9 oil changes on mine so far (gas) and I just used a regular plastic Walmart type funnel maybe 6" long overall with no problems.

Just wait until you decide to check your transmission fluid and possibly add any fluid! If you can even find the check/fill tube you won’t find an off the shelf funnel to use

Thank you. Okay Walmart funnel it is. Just thought maybe someone had come across the ultimate cleans itself no drip stainless digital funnel or somethin'. I sometimes overthink to avoid underthink.....I think.

 

I have not changed the oil myself but my question is that it seems they always take a long time changing the filter on top. It looks like you unscrew it and put the new one in and tighten it back up. Is it really that easy? What should I look for , oil leaking or am I thinking too much.

Yes & no. If you get/have the correct wrench & socket it's very easy. You do need a shorty open end wrench (24 mm) I use a short socket over the top of the oil filter housing. The problem is clearance as there is a hose in the way so you can only make short turns with whatever you use.

I hear ya on the funnel, and this is why....
I want the funnel to stay in the hole rock solid, so I dont have to use 1 hand to hold the funnel and 1 hand to pour in fresh oil.
And I say this because I get the 5 quart jug. Its kinda heavy using 1 hand and lifting it near chest level. On top of that when you begin to pour, the topoff level is right there. Its an awkward pour with 1 hand. And if you use 2 hands, your funnel better not move!!
Now the Penzoil 5 quart jug has the handle on top next to the pour spout. Maybe I should look for a jug with the handle partially on top and wrapping around to the side. Ive changed my oil 5 times now and STILL have not found a funnel that Im comfortable with.
Im with the thread starter on this, only because I lack the strength to control the beginning pour from a 5 quart jug with 1 hand.

Precisely...my funnel not only moved but the weight of the oil tipped it over and I poured oil on my nice new engine and it went into places I can't reach to wipe it up and onto my fairly clean driveway. Pouring from the 5 quart jug with one hand and holding the funnel was clumsy for me. Lookin' at finding a smaller container to use to pour the oil in and stay put funnel.:|

 

I use two funnels. The long skinny one fits down into the fill hole nicely without moving. Then you put your usual big wide but short one into the skinny one. Simple, easy to pour into and stable. Cheers and have fun with changing the oil on the easiest vehicle to do oil changes on of all time

 

Anyone else notice that you can use a long skinny funnel to top off the washer fluid and it overflows before the tank is full? The ass high stance of the vehicle causes it to trap air. You need to be parked pointing uphill to fill it all the way!
