Has anyone experienced using this Midea small Window AC unit? It’s on sale at Amazon and has very small foot print and think putting in on one of my back windows with outside support bracket of cause. It’s anout 50lbs

I'll add this here as it seems to fit and I didn't see it in all those A/C threads yet:

This guy is using a Midea U-Shaped unit mounted in the back door:
and uses it solar only.

There are a couple of additional videos in his channel.

I'm thinking about getting one of those too and somehow mount it (temporarily) in a window.

Unfortunately I'm in Europe, and reading more and more about efficient A/Cs it seems that they don't
exist in Europe. We have almost no window units (also caused by different windows common here).
So I guess I would have to import one and use a 110V inverter.

Government Energy Star ratings list LG brand at top of efficiency ranking; but not by much. The lowest-capacity window air conditioner with inverter drive I see listed is still 8,000 BTU/hr. The LG has CEER of 15.5, with many other models at 15.0.

In lower-capacity units without inverter drive, it looks like LG 6,000 BTU/hr unit with CEER of 12.4 has highest ranking. Other brands start at CEER of 12.1.

I’m not surprised LG, a very large corporation that also manufactures mini-split A/C, is competitive in either category, and I would consider their products. Main concern with 8,000 BTU/hr inverter window A/C is its larger size and weight; and somewhat the higher cost also; though probably well worth it just for noise reduction compared to mine. Also electrical load on generator would be steady — or more so. That would be of value to me as well.

I've arrived at the F it stage with the lack of AC in our van.

Ordering a LG Dual Inverter and going to go the classy route and hang it out of the back door. I was considering the Midea U but something about the LG speaks to me.

They come in 8k, 9.5k, and 10k. Trying to figure the differences between them. I wish they released technical data on these.

Batteries are getting an upgrade to 560ah from 200ah. Not sure on what we're going to do with the solar.... currently at 400w.
