Hi all,
turning to this forum to settle a debate between my father and I
i was planning to use 1/4 inch birch (not Baltic) plywood for the walls and for the ceiling (instead of tongue and groove / shiplap) on my conversion. I’ve seen other people use it on ~youtube~ and in blog posts and like that it is lightweight and easy to bend to curve of van.
that said, I’ve no idea how well it ends up actually holding up. My dad is concerned about it warping.
anyone have experience using 1/4 plywood? How has it held up? Any warping? Does it rattle while driving? Other concerns?
for context, I have studs at least every 12-16 inches. I also have a shower in the van so there will be internal humidity but I have a vent fan, windows, an A/C and a heater all of which should help reduce some internal moisture. I’ve use thinsulate and reflectix insulation and will paint the back of all walls (the side that faces the insulation/metal) with Bullseye 123 mold resistant primer. I’ll also be painting the front (the side that faces the interior) with a Behr paint.
many thanks
