We are picking up our van tomorrow (finally), and one of the first things we’re going to do is attach the solar panels. We have Renogy panels, and they recommend using well nuts to secure the panels to the roof.
However, I’ve seen some discussion that this is not a extremely effective method. Some advocate using Rivnuts, and others apparently simply use a bolt, washers, and nut through the roof. I’m looking for the hive mind to provide guidance. We plan to use silicone caulk to seal top and bottom once installed.
