So it looks like my first head scratcher is going to be figuring out how to boldly attach a roof rack where none has gone before—on a super high roof.
My current thinking is drilling up out of the sheet metal where it is layered up at the edges and installing riv nuts. Maybe counter sink the nut through the existing sealant so it sits flush with the roof and then throw a bolt in and generously lapseal it. Figure I could do this 5 or 6 times on each side and then flush mount a channel on either side to better distribute weight along the length of the roof, finish it off with silicone in the threads and more lap sealant.
I’m thinking 8020.
