Hello all! I've been lurking this group since April when I bought my van. I've already learned a bunch of how-to stuff from posters, for which I'm grateful! I've never been in a forum before, but I wanted to join in case I had any detailed problems I could ask for advice on.
I bought this van used with 160,000 miles because it has a smart floor and a Braunability wheelchair lift. I have 8 kids, one in a wheelchair, and I needed a van big enough to seat everyone, with a lift for my son, who was getting too big to lift in and out of my old Honda Pilot.
The price was right, but the upkeep is a little daunting. It had a new transmission put in the year before I bought it. Since purchasing, I've replaced the radiator fan (knew what was wrong thanks to this forum), fixed the rear a/c, fixed wiring on the rear turn signals, tried to fix the leaking over the front cabin from the front a/c, replaced all four tires, and am now dealing with the dreaded engine ticking. Honestly, it probably ticked when I bought it.
She's decked out like the Galileo 7 shuttlecraft from TOS Star Trek because she's the same shape, and why not!?
Anyway, that's us! I really do appreciate all the hints and tips in this group! I'm a single mom with no idea about cars, but I'm good at internet research.
