I ordered my ‘20 right after Labor Day 2019 and I picked it up the day before Xmas 2019.

 

Thanks. I found somewhere online about a month ago that the lead time was then 16-18 weeks. The dealer claims this is the first year for the Saltillo, Mexico plant to build them. Last update was "in transit delayed" on June 28th, whatever that means...

 

The dealer is full of ****! They have built all Promasters for the USA & Canada in Saltillo since their introduction in NA (2013)!

 

We ordered around January 10, 2021 (give or take a few days) and took delivery in mid-May, 2021. So that was approximately 16 weeks. Maybe things have become more scarce since then?.

 

What color & options you order can also make a big difference in build time.

 

That’s an interesting point and I suspected that was the case. Curiously, we ordered a blue 118 with all the safety features (our youngest is the primary driver) and a few other options so I feared that our vehicle would take forever.

Nothing unusuall in that order but a few things you really don’t want.

 

Ordered a silver 136 with rear and side glass in November. Dealer still doesn’t know when it’s going to arrive. Think I’ll buy a used Sprinter in Sept if it isn’t here by then.

 

I am sure the dealers know very well about the progress of ordered vehicles. They just don't feel like looking things up and sending updates. We have been kept up to date every week with order status, including build scheduled, VIN assigned, build in progress, build completed, rail transit, arrival in Mexican port, ship assignment, expected arrival in port, etc. I agree with others that the more generic the order, the faster Saltillo will schedule the build.

As mentioned, your van is not too unique. All the options are bolt-on and aren't likely to affect manufacturing and delivery--and it shows as you got it in 4 months. Mine took 7+. But (and I'm guessing), it was my driver's side slider that made the difference.

Looking forward to seeing what you will do with it.

 

Was going to order High Top 3500 & Dealer called. No orders till September 😫 He has my build list & said will put it in as soon as it opens up.

 

I ordered a 2021 in late January & was told best guess from the Dealer was 4 to 6 months. End of July is 6 months & now told to expect it in November or December for pickup.

Apparently, there's just one ship (as I was told by my sales guy). So you may have just missed it, which added some weeks to the timeline... :-/

A nice thing is that your actual build time was short. You likely chose a common configuration.

I ordered mine sept 15th and got it Jan 31

 

I just put a deposit down on one in transit to an AZ dealer. They told me it would be here the last week of September. This was not a special order or anything. Hopefully thats somewhat of a correct ETA.
