The radio on my van was just replaced because my Blindspot detection wasn’t working. It’s now telling me that it is disabled. Does anyone know how to enable it?
I offered to help engineering with a design review of Blind Spot Warning feature but RamCares tells me engineersI find this encouraging. I didn't realize there was separate trailer tow module but have long felt the issue was in whatever is used to detect trailer wiring as the system intentionally shuts down when trailer BRAKE LIGHTS are detected and the unintentional shut down is also BRAKE LIGHT related.
I will gladly accept a new module if it is going to put an end to the misbehaving but I would much prefer they simply reprogram the system to NEVER turn itself off, We should be able to control that manually ourselves if needed.
Thanks for caring Sarah, But there are about 20 people on here with the EXACT same defective problem, and you only respond to one person????Hi Long Story,
We're sorry to hear you're dealing with this concern. If you'd like to send us a private message, we'd be happy to connect you with a specialist who will best be able to assist you.

It has been over three weeks (about 250 miles) with no problems.Dealer replaced the trailer tow module last week to fix blind spot detector turn-off. Will keep you posted.
Dealer said that when the vehicle control computer (located in the radio) looses contact with a blind spot sensor, it automatically disables the blind spot detection system. The two blind spot sensors plug in to the trailer control module located on the top rear of the van. Unfortunately, there is no error code to recorded when or how this happens so the technician is left to guess where the problem is. It could be a bad sensor, bad trailer toe module, bad wiring or bad vehicle control computer. The dealer happened to have a trailer toe module in stock and gave it a try. So far it appears to be a good guess because I have usually had problems by now, but time will tell.It has been over three weeks (about 250 miles) with no problems.

Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of North Seattle. They have a young woman who manages Ram warranty issues. I think her name is Kaylee. She is the one to talk to.What dealer did you take yours to? I'm just north of you in Marysville and would like mine fixed also.
I am by Marysville also hope someone repliesWhat dealer did you take yours to? I'm just north of you in Marysville and would like mine fixed also.
Yesterday was sunny and 70's so I hope it was a good test. It would pretty much match the weather last fall when it happened regularly.Glad to hear that. I have always known the failure on my system required warm temperature and application of brakes.
No issues all Winter, but twice this week on warm days. Hoping my dealer accepts the tow module info when I take it back.
