My bigger question would be, "do you actually need it"? If you still had the screws, could you, for instance, substitute with a couple of plastic washers? If you didn't have the screws, maybe (and I'm really speculating here!) the assembly would be held roughly in place by the terminal attachment.

 

I don’t think you need it. It’s only to keep the battery connections in the proper location afaik.
