Got to poking around here https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzCxPUe7m_TPT19UOVVDY3lWam8 and followed the link to "RAM" under "SYSTEMS" and it tells me I should have have an UCONNECT 5.0/RA2 like this https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzCxPUe7m_TPbUVYM2U5SmY0MDg and be able to get things like remote start from my phone and a lot of other neat things including turning the Van into a WiFi hot Spot. .

Look at the Actual 1 and 2 to see what I have.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzCxPUe7m_TPT19UOVVDY3lWam8 which is what is shown on the "RAM you build it page."

Anyone have the advertised one?
Anyone have what I have?
If you pay for the extra stuff, what do you actually get?? Dealer has been useless so far.

Not interested at this time in after market radios. Only what the FCA/dealer installations do.

NO Radio at ALL. ProMaster ordering has option for NO-RADIO !!!
P.S. Few years ago I found my smart-phone plays Great-Quality music on a head-phones.

Instead of a radio They made 2 boxed pockets on a dash

I have the same radio installed that the OP has.

I think I might like having the option of starting my vehicle while lying in bed in the back.

I use my phone as a wifi hotspot - so no need there.

Wi-Fi hotspot is an add-on and way overpriced. You are better to buy the ones the cell-phone providers offer as they are portable and usually have a battery life of 8 to 10 hours+. The Uconnect in the Promaster has potential but FCA and the dealers don't even know there potential.

Here is a list of the special features available with the Uconnect: http://www.driveuconnect.com/system/ram/ make sure to change the vehicle model to the Promaster to see the full list.

I like how the satellite radio is option but they come with the antenna already installed. Not sure why they waste the time with it and not just give you the full function of SAT radio...

What do you actually get on the factory UConnect if you sign up??

Found this "*Uconnect® 8.4AN and 8.4A Systems only" here http://www.driveuconnect.com/features/uconnect_access/packages/ under the "Find Out Now" button.
So, Probably no HotSpot capability. This could have been something I would have wanted. Why?? I live alone. When I am home the van is at home. If I could use it as a HotSpot for the advertised $34.99 per month and it was decent speed and unlimited it would be a REALLY good deal since I am paying $100.00/mo for 20 GB of what is supposed to be Verizon 4G at 14 GBS, but since I live out in the country I rarely see faster than 3 GBS.

Dangerous to use headphones while driving. In my previous van, when the factory radio quit I attached a couple of little computer speakers to the driver headrest to use with phone/mp3 player.

My PM came with the UConnect 5.0/RA2

Final Conclusion

The radio/uconnect system that is actually installed when a vehicle is ordered is not the radio/uconnect system advertised on the uconnect website.

Activating the radio/uconnect system by pushing accept on the vehicle display does nothing except stop it from asking you to accept the term/conditions.

This page http://www.chrysler.com/webselfservice/chrysler/EmailPage.html doesn't work.

The dealers are useless since all their information is for the radio/uconnect system shown here http://www.driveuconnect.com/system/2015/ramtrucks/ram_promaster/5-0-ra2/

If you go to the uConnect webpage it tells you exactly what is available for the Promaster http://www.driveuconnect.com/system/ram/
They list one and only one uConnect there the uConnect 5. You have the only uConnect radio that you can get for the Promaster. There is no mystery about what it is or does or even how it works! You are assuming you can choose whichever uConnect radio you like but that is not the case and nowhere does Ram even suggest it.

BTW when you first start up you always get the "accept" screen (which I find to be a major PITA) but if you do nothing it goes away on its own after about a minute or even less.

I think there's an option to have the Nav system or not, but the radio is the same. The Nav is beyond awful.

Follow the links!!

The last two posters clearly have NOT followed the links..

I have NEVER thought that I had a choice about what radio I would/could get. (I didn't/wouldn't have ordered it in the first place. I took a sales reps botched order off a dealers hands and got a substantial discount. I mean who in their right mind would order a double slider with the 6 way seat ONLY in the drivers side, all the electronics, with glass in the back windows, glass in the drivers side slider, but no glass in the passengers side slider? The sales rep blew the order and the deal got stuck and had to unload it. I got what I think was a good deal and I have the CRL Window sitting in my workshop waiting for a nice day to install it so I will have the passenger slider window.)

I have always believed that I have the ONLY radio that FCA installs in the Promaster. If you go through the RAM Promaster FCA "U Build It Pages" it clearly shows the radio that is will be installed and it is the radio that is installed in my Promaster.

Following the link (http://www.driveuconnect.com/system/ram/) posted by the most recent posts DOES NOT take you to a description of a radio that is anything like the radio FCA installs which again, is the radio that I actually have.

THAT IS THE PROBLEM!! The dealers DO NOT HAVE the information for the radio that actually gets installed. They have the information for the radio in the link.

The radio in the link has a very colorful screen.
The actual radio display is grey, white and orange.
The radio in the link says there are touch controls (and by inference voice controls for the AC and heater.)
Those do NOT exist on/in the FCA installed radio. (Yes, I looked at the list of voice commands and tried them and they did NOT work.)
The radio in the link shows beautiful color navigation maps.
At present, I am not convinced the radio I have will actually do navigation. So far NO ONE HERE has said they have the navigation on a PROMASTER..
The radio in the link has completely different hard keys and the knobs are in different locations than the ONLY radio that FCA actually installs.

FOLLOW THE LINKS!!!

Well if you look at the image on the Promaster web site it very clearly says "Image shown is for illustration purposes only" i.e. it isn't necessarily the screen you will find on the Promaster uConnect5

My (and all uConnects) certainly does have a color touch screen. In back up camera mode it displays in full color, in NAV (GPS) mode it shows in full color and is a touch screen

And, in AUX/CD player, USB & Bluetooth mode it shows in color and is also a touch screen.

I have a very difficult time believing your uConnect5 is any different from all of the other ones any Promaster owner here has.

I don't really know. You have you done the latest uConnect update haven't you? It's playing a mp3 file from a CD I burned myself.

"NAV" vs "COMPASS"

NAV (GPS) mode it shows in full color and is a touch screen

My radio is indeed different. That button in the middle of yours that says "NAV" is labeled "COMPASS" on mine..

Look at the video I posted.
