Many of us got vans to take us to pretty places, where we could then take pictures of the van. I thought it might be fun to share some pictures of your van in the wild. I'm afraid my initial contribution will be of my former Transit, but hopefully I can add some Promaster pictures in the next few months. One caveat for everyone, please remember that individual users retain the copyrights to their pictures! Don't grab pictures off of here, whether they are marked or not, for use elsewhere!

Only one rule to post - PICTURES MUST INCLUDE YOUR VAN!!!

Spent a lot of time on ferries lately. Port Angles, WA to Victoria BC:

Butchart Gardens was beautiful, even though it was severe spring weather (sun, rain, hail, sun etc):

Another ferry from Victoria to Salt Spring Island, sandwiched in between two Westfalia Vanagons:

Then a fantastic Harvest Hosts spot on Salt Spring Island (Golden Age Meadery) overlooking Fulford Harbor. Yes, we were treated to a full-on double rainbow:

Off Saline Valley Road in Panamint Valley. Except for climbing Wildrose Peak and hiking to Mahogany Flat twice, I mostly vegged in the van for several weeks while MrNomer looked at geology with his friends.

The Saline salt tram has a cable tower above the valley on top of the mountain. Spectacular view from the top and the tower is a work of art.
They transported salt up and over to the Owens Valley.

this cactus is a little bit bigger than ones we have at home:). These ones can grow up to 18m/54' and weight up to 25tons. Baja California.

I passed that van down in Baja somewhere. Rode my dirt bike from Ensenada to Cabo San Lucas so where I saw it is kind of a blur but maybe near El Rosario.
Saw quite a few Promasters in Baja actually.

van looks like a toy... Baja California
San Ignacio is a beautiful spot. The mission there is one of my favorites in all of Baja. We had a great tour of the mission and a banquet dinner in the courtyard catered by the locals. A truly unique experience.
The People in Baja are great.

I'm on cape Hatteras. It began as a horrible experience. The spot I had booked did not back up on the beach as I had thought, and it was one of those pull-along-the-side-of-the road spots -- no picnic table, no place for an awning. Slider view was a prickly bush. The back door view was of the road. I'm here for 5 days. I wanted to set-up the whole thing--awning, chairs, doggie pen, mini grill.

Long story short I was able to change the reserved spot online and now I'm happy. Really what I wanted was someplace magically beautiful where I could comfortably set up for 5 days and write. I hoped for an ocean view. There is not one at this campground. It's a walk away, which is fine, I'll walk. I'm guessing this wasn't the best cape Hatteras campsite choice. It was an hour away from the other places, at the end of the island. But it will work out just fine for my needs.

Lola - I always look at campgrounds and individual sites on Google Satellite before booking. I pay attention to location, trees for shade, direction of site vs southern exposure, etc.

How do you get it on google satellite?
How do you get it on google satellite?
You just go in google maps on your laptop or phone, input the address like you would do for directions, and choose the satellite view, then zoom in. Then you can compare it to the campgrounds site map.
If you want to get really fancy download the Google Earth app.
