Met up with one of my oldest friends out in the Anza Borrego Desert to ride dirt bikes.
We are both having a blast with our vans. So much nicer for a couple of old guys than running around in pickup trucks.

Finally had a couple clear days so we went for a quick overnight. Got in a nice bike ride, back to the skis tomorrow.

We were at the Ocotillo Wells OHV area. It is wide open desert dispersed camping mostly. It was practically empty. No hookups but also no people.
Pretty quite mid-week.
Lots of pay camping in the area.
Good dirt roads, no mud.

Camped near Oakridge. Wasn't too bad, 32 in the morning. Sunshine was nice, its been gray in Sisters lately.

New Year's Eve Stealth Camping in Minnesota, -11 degrees F (-24 C) but cozy with our little chinese parking heater.
Absolutely no reason to drink and drive when you can stumble out the back of the party and into your bed!

We have actually never climbed in California! We spend most of our time climbing between Colorado (Front Range mostly), Wyoming (Vedauwoo) , and Utah (Indian Creek)

We get snow and ice down here in SC too. Current scene of 6-8 inches snow, now coming down as sleet, with freezing rain expected through the afternoon causing widespread power outages. Glad I held on to my Sorel Glacier II boots!
