Hello Everyone more diesel problems. I have a 2015 ram promaster. I went to start it this morning and nothing. tried it a few times didn't even turn over. Kind of weird then message came of service glow plug. Maybe this is just because of the battery being dead not sure. Have 108,000 on it and had the glow plugs replaced at about 75,000 miles that was a fiasko.

I gave the van a jump and it started right up. Now let it run, drove it around for 5 minutes and went to turn it off and see if it would start back up. Nothing at all. The dash lights are on the glow plug issue still pops up and the check engine light now flashing. I jumped it again to get it started ran it again foe awhile and same thing doesn't click or even turn over at all. Battery was replaced about 3 years ago for another issue. Anybody have any suggestions on where I could maybe start or have this issue themselves. Besides dumping this thing and cutting my losses.

Any help would be great. Thanks

Thanks I will try that or even pull the battery and take it in to get tested. Just seems like letting in run for 10-15 and driving for five it would at least turn over.
Check these ground locations the engine ground at starter is the most obvious one.

Resting voltage should be 12.5- 12.6 when fully charged. This is after it has sat a bit not charging, at least an hour.
Your charging voltage seems good at 14.?.

The battery is at 12.6 volts resting now. Tried cranking again nothing not even a click besides all the instrument panel. I will start looking over the ground wires. Thanks for those pictures those will be very helpful.

HVAC 1957 do you know those pictures you posted. I don't have that grounding cable on my starter. Was that an added item that solved his problem or may be that was off the gas promaster. Otherwise the grounding under bumper at drivers side looks good.

I see he added that grounding strap to the starter. Could my issue be a bad starter? However it starts and runs when vehicle is jumped
Here's some more info on grounding issues

Thanks i seen that post as well. I will try adding that ground as he did maybe i will get lucky. Running out of options. Just weird it can be jumped and starts right up. Not sure why that would be the case.
