I have a '14 Promaster 3500 that has a uconnect 5 stereo that got damaged. I ordered a replacement on ebay and installed it. Turns out I had the wrong unlock code so after 3 or 4 tries it locked me out and said I had to wait half an hour. I turned the key off walked away, got ahold of a dealer and got the correct code and came back to try again about an hour later. Still had the radio locked out wait 30 minutes message. I waited over night, tried again, same thing. I disconnected the battery and waited 24 hours, same thing. Tried the Uconnect reset proceedure where you hold the power and tuner buttons, nothing. Anyone have any ideas on how to get it to reset so I can enter the correct code and have a working stereo again?

My local dealer reset the code on mine (no charge). I believe they have to use some kind of online centralized registration process to do so. They required me to bring in the radio, supply the VIN, and prove I own the van. Took about a half hour or less.

I have the correct code now, but it won't allow me to enter it. The screen says Too many incorrect tries, radio is locked out for 30 minutes. But it's been nearly a week since then and the lockout screen hasn't gone away.

If it was me, I'd bring it into the dealer and ask them to reset it and issue a new code. Second time around they might charge you though.
