I'm thinking of installing Thinsulate acoustic insulation (2" thick) as part of my build (in combination with sound deadener and radiant insulation)...but unfortunately it only comes in bulk rolls of about >280 sq ft. It costs about $3 a sq ft. Anybody interested in sharing a roll?

If that Thinsulate is the same stuff we used in the 70s when I was an engineer designing fire trucks for use in Alaska, you must live where it's really cold. I think we used 2" for pump insulation. Really good stuff and very expensive back then

Actually, I live where it is very warm, I have a dark blue van, and need to store things that are meltable inside (wax topped surfboards)...but the same idea holds. The thinsulate is mostly marketed as sound proofing with the added benefit of thermal insulation. The 1" vs 1.75" doesn't save much money but will be easier to mount.

Watched the video. Oops that's not the stuff we used in fire trucks for use in Alaska. We used Ensolite.
