Checked into a state park and always do a security check of the surroundings. All looked good, so it was about 2030hrs on the 3rd night, we were both inside and the worst happened. No wind at all, a tree broke about 30 feet up and landed on the roof, between the A/C and awning. The piece that landed on the roof was about 27 feet long and maybe between 1500 -1700 lbs. Crushed the fan, the skylite, both solar panels, wifi booster, crushed the roof to the windshield, destroyed the windshield, buckled the hood, and cracked the air intake. That was the outside. Inside, dented the ceiling, and all forward cabinets all out of alignment. I think the B pillar is also buckled. Waiting to hear from the builder, body shop and insurance.

Holeey crap. Be thankful it was rotten, a live tree that diameter and 27 feet long would weigh in between 6-8,000 lbs. I wonder if your van gets totaled out?

There is an island on Lake Norris that we like to camp on(via pontoon, not PM). Once when setting up, I happened to look up and was shocked to see a very large, tall and rotten Red Oak leaning over the tent site.....stakes came up, and the tens got moved. 2 years later it had fallen, yep, right where the tents would have been.
