Any science to back up opinions?
Insulation building materials are tested by standard methods ASTM or ULC by independent testing agencies & their thermal insulation values “R Values” are published by the manufacturers of the products.
Here is an example of the “Enerfoil IKO” Polyiso I recently used;
“That Is Science”
Does “Lizardskin” produce any testing to ASTM standards or indicate any actual “R Values” at all?
@GaryBIS is The Forum’s “Resident Tester / Test Facility”. Maybe he will chime in with some light on the subject.
Without proper test data and published specs, I tend to move on & that product gets filed under probable snake oil stuff. The onus is on the manufacturer to prove its “value” or “R Value”, not the other way around.
That being said, you may have decided to apply it to the interior of your van for other reasons other than “heat transfer reduction”. Those reasons might be valid, but I do not know what they are.
