Yes, a familiar idea for a known ProMaster weakness. Mine is injection molded glass reinforced nylon, which will be superior in surface quality and strength to 3D printed carbon fiber.
I also retain use of the stock fastener and incorporate a steel bearing at the pivot point, which will let me offer a lifetime warranty.

Competition is good 👍

I am lining up for the larger handle once its ready, but in meantime just an idea/hack that works for me .....

When you grab and pull the lever from inside it always seems to move a half inch and then get stuck without opening the door. Instead of keeping on pulling - release the lever and redo. Its always a simple and easy opening on the second time. Very frustrating to have to pull twice but better than fighting the lever and breaking something.

That's the way it's designed. First pull simply unlocks it, once unlocked then subsequent pulls open it. Back door is the same so my guess is that this IS the safety mechanism.

Remember, this is sold as a cargo van and is not designed nor intended for transporting kids or anyone else in the back. If driving with people in the rear is the plan you have to make your own safety modifications.

Winnebago isn't selling these as cargo vans. If it needs modification it should be done by Winnebago. And I'm not aware that RAM says not to use these as campers. So I don't buy the intentionally designed that way idea.

How can I order and when? Will new handle allow full opening of sliding door? Thanks

All the VIN numbers on these RAM vans sold in the US are coded as cargo. It's not an opinion, you can look it up. RAM is not responsible for, nor could it care less, what Winnebago does with it after it's sold.

If, after their modification, you have RV safety issues then obviously you'll have contact Winnebago. Who knows, maybe they'll do something for you.

The other concern I'd have with the 'Winnebago' or any other aftermarket conversion. If they provide rear seats, there is no safety test or requirement like the vehicle manufacturer has to do with the vehicle delivered seats. The aftermarket provider could just screw the rear passenger seats to plywood. Boy, that would go over great in a major collision

Hi, the door handle product page is just to sign up for in-stock notifications. My first production run is underway. Depending on Canadian appetite for my smaller products, I can consider opening sales up to Canada.
