I've seen a few variations of the sliding door handle around and decided to create my ideal version. The handle scoops are deeper for better pulling ergonomics, and the additional leverage makes it easy for my kids (5 & 6) to open the door. I added a hanging hook for trash bags, keys, etc. The material is glass-reinforced nylon for ultimate durability, and the pivot point will be reinforced with a steel bearing, giving this a lifetime warranty.

I'm not sure seeing kids opening doors of vehicles is a selling point. Some of us don't want little kids opening vehicle doors so we use the kiddie locks.
It's a priority for us personally for my kids to be able to exit the van by themselves in case of an emergency. Otherwise, the handle is more ergonomic and way easier to open, and the added hook feature is a nice bonus.

Thats a cool solution! So you used the original handle, diagonally sliced off the top, then the wooden part straddles and completes the handle via epoxy?
Exactly. It's a two-piece plywood sandwich to make cutting the straddle-slot easy.

I might make it a bundle with my door stopper since it's also about the sliding door
