Would any one know, if the antennas for Sirius and Xm are the same?
Would like to splice into the existing antenna.
Years ago I purchased a lifetime subscription to Sirius, not siriusxm.
From what i have found out, SiriusXm, uses the old Xm satellite.
Reception in the north of Canada, with SiriusXm, SUCKS!
No problem with Sirius.
All i would like to know, do the use different antennas?
Thanks.
(how I found out was, pulling up to my dealer, from the northside, pulling up to the building, i would lose the signal, on the factory installed SiriusXm.
Plugged in my old Stratus6, attached the antenna, Bingo, signal.
Plus Nfl Radio and Howard are part of my package, no charge.)
Thanks

Same antennas, they are SMB type. Commonly found in GPS antennas. I believe the factory PM/PMC are FAKRA plugs
Much like a phone from telus, rogers, bell, etc.. inside they are all the same yet they all use different bands for communication. The physical antennas never change.

P.S
Most factory siriusxm tuners aren't very great.

Thanks, Charged021
Will let you know if it works.
I may just pull the Sirius Antenna lead through the existing hole and seal it.
Again Thanks
