Make Wall Panels

I decided this would be the First Task, so after standing inside the van and scratching my head for awhile I chose a design and mounting method (rivnuts). All to be fabricated and installed prior to insulating the walls. I was stumped for a while sourcing out the rivnuts and tools to install them. I asked the local Dealer, but they were less than helpful?

Here are some photos;

I appreciate everyone who takes the time to document all the steps. These thread become a great resource.
Thanks ThomD & Creid

I had not cleared out my iPhone for 18months. Had to download & delete something like 10,000 photos, 2,000 of which are related to Van build. So now that I know photos on here are unlimited I will share more with other DIYers

The Caveat here is I am not promoting my build as correct, but just a record of what & how I choose to build. The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly is in the eyes of the reader. If you think what I did was good use it. If you think it was bad or ugly then please criticize it

If ya got questions ask & I will attempt to answer time permitting.

There is the stuff we know?

There is the stuff we don’t know?

Then there is the stuff we don’t even know we don’t know ?

Yeah, let's not mention the stuff we think we know but really don't. ;-)

These are great RV8R. Definitely interesting seeing how others envision what they want to do, then how they go about making it happen.

The Wife wanted upper shelves ?

I knew it would be hard ? I didn't want to do it? Caveat; I would not do these like this again so don't copy my "FRANKIN-SHELVES"

So here is my poorly though out redonkulas shelves... some of the bad & ugly (maybe formulated from my resistance and bad attitude?)

The Heart of our Floor Plan is the "Bed Gable" location; Set to Maximize the Floor space;

THE BED

Our Primary Focus for Our Build; Memory Foam Queen Size Bed (60" by 80" long - length trimmed down to 74" to fit/ sleep "crosscourt" sideways.

RD coined the bed "the Skookum Bed" ... Thinking now it kinda goes with "Frankin-Shelves" is that "Feng Shui"?

Ok;

So I was tired of working in the dark and cold and running extension cords into the drivers window to keep rain out;

I hooked up the Shore Power on a temp basis so I could power up for heat & light & tools; and still have the van enclosed;

I know what you are thinking; Why the bed? Is RV8R in the Dog House ??

I really can't say?

I GOT AN IDEA ... ER IKEA ?

Actually was not my idea but a coworkers; Trofast Bins IKEA. We cook outside & everything is in these bins. I thought I would need retainers so they didn't slide out in corners, but was pleasantly surprised once loaded with items they really do not move very much. Less is More
