After only 2.5 years, the awning mechanism on my slider door CR Laurence window broke. The cheap, cheesy metal axle wore out where it connects to the crank-out system. Cost $109 to order the replacement parts, which appear to have a materials cost of about, let's see...$1? $3? The CRL people assured me that these parts don't break often; guess I was just "lucky." Anyway, I made the repair, realizing in the process that the CRL product was, frankly, mediocre in design and execution. I did not take photos but, for those who encounter this problem, I did find a video of the repair being made, and have attached it below. It's a little more work with the window in the van, but not a bad job. Pretty disappointing that the part gave out so quickly! Here is the video, should anyone on the forum need to repeat it. In real life, it was only about 45 minutes to repair it, including messing up the first time.
