Looks like fix is software only.

Don't know what this means ProMaster diesel? If anything?

I don’t know but I don’t plan to get my software “updated” any time soon. As our engine never was under review it may mean we squeak by? Hopefully it doesn't degrade drivability or emissions workability in any of those vehicles.

I just bought a new 2015 3500 diesel which supposedly had all updates done on it. It runs smooth and gets great mileage so far.
