I suggest we consider one or more regional or national gatherings (w/Canada it would be international) of the faithful to allow this forum become more of a community. Saltillo MX has been suggested for a site as well as cooperating with the transit and Sprinter folks to make it a VAN event and expand their scope. Is there interest? Suggest an area/gathering site/existing meeting of vans or campervans or whatever you know about.

It does dilute the stock a bit, but I like the idea of joining in with the Sprinter and Transit folks, making it a modern 'van conversion' event. Well, more oriented towards the RV-ing side of things.

It would be fun to geek out on a bunch of other PMs, but I enjoy seeing what folks are doing on the other chassis as well.

I'd love to attend a van-themed show/gathering! All makes, models, ages!

There's probably a lot involved with putting something like this together, so getting help from someone with experience would be a good idea. How about approaching a car-show production company like "Carlisle Events" (http://www.carlisleevents.com) with the idea to see if they'd be interested? They already put on car & truck shows, so they already have a suitable venue in Carlisle, PA.

Saltillo MX?? Can I bring my dirt bikes...LOL
Figured you were talking a Motocross track since so many Promaster owners use them to haul bikes. A MX track would be a great place to meet and camp.

I was joking, actually when I said Mexico but an East and West "Profest" makes sense. The problem with Carlisle is the size. It's a huge venue and we would get lost there.

Personally I think a Promaster only event is a better way to start out. The first Sprinter meet I went to had about a dozen vans at it and was (and still is) held at a big Sprinter dealer.

To move forward we need some guidelines for a venue. My first choice is a State Park (off season) but a large parking lot at a dealer or camper retailer would work. If it would draw a dozen vans some Casinos in the SW might work. If it would draw 25 vans it would be another matter. Nearby attractions would be nice. Rhinebeck NY in September? Phoenix or Tucson in February? Florida in ???? Oklahoma in October? Northern New Mexico in July?

Another question would be:

Is this a thing where camping at, or near, the location is required? Or allowed? Either way could limit who shows up.

For NW SprinterFest, it seemed like many folks just drove in for the day; but I'm sure others stayed in the area.

I think most folks would be a bit greedy, and like to have an event in their 'region'. That said, I'm lucky enough to have NW SprinterFest just a few hours drive from me. Perhaps look at another region for the PM gathering. I would suggest the springtime in the southwest. (just a rambling idea)

The southwest would be a great place to start! Lots of attractions, camping facilities, beaches and most of all great weather with no humidity. With that said, these gatherings of various Tribes should eventually be in three venues, the south west, middle central (Oklahoma MsNomer territory or Texas) and mid to south east!!! Don't mind me, I'am just day dreaming!
But what ever we come up with, I'am there!
By the way some group with a lot of money to burn is building a new wave pool in Austin Tx. I would/will make that trek!
