With a horizontal propane tank mounted on a promaster, is it common/possible/typical for propane supply places to refill the tank (2.5 or 5 gallon) with is remaining mounted on the vehicle? Or does the tank always need to be removed and carried to a filling spot?

Thanks

Hi,
One of our past RVs had a permanently mounted horz tank and it was always filled in place with no remote fill.
It was a bit of a pain for the propane guys, but none of them ever refused or even complained about it.

One thing I did not like about the under frame mount is that the tank, regulator, valve and gage got a lot of mud thrown at them from the tires, and the replacement rate was significant. Maybe consider shielding it from the road splash?

This is the remote fill location.

You can see the port where the propane enters, the relief valve and a shut off switch. There are two of these switches, one in the coach and one outside. Both need to be on to use propane.

This is a view from underneath the van. On the left you see the relief valve with its extension and to the right of that you can see the fill port with its extension. Further right you can see the outlet with a solenoid attached that is energized by the on/off switches I mentioned before. The hose after the solenoid goes to the regulator and then to the appliances.
