Hi everyone! I'm a new owner of a Prostar. This vehicle needs a new engine and I was wondering if is possible to take a 3.6 from another vehicle such as a grand caravan, charger, etc. and put it in the prostar? Thanks in advance for any help.

I have no idea what a "Prostar" is but with enough time and money, almost anything is possible in this world.

I think you mean ProMaster??

Issues may be more in the area of ECU and electronics than fitment.

I used to change around engine/transmission combos a lot and if you have the old engine you will probably be able to unbolt the accessories and put them on the block of the new engine as well as the oil pick up tube and oil pan that often need swapping.

But then you need the correct electronics and yours may not run the older engine or vice versa as Hein points out.

I have no experience with this combo but a 3.6 Caravan engine with 100K on it can’t cost much. Pull yours and take it to the salvage yard and compare. Transfer ALL your components onto the salvage engine.

Two Words to consider..... Short Block! or
Long Block!
