Hey Guys, Just ordered a 2018 159" high roof :) Going to be used mainly as my dirt bike carrier, but the wife has ideas of it becoming a backcountry camper/photography mule..we will see who wins that one...I already have an idea on that outcome :).

Already been scouring the forum for ideas and have found some cool ideas !!

Anyway just wanted to say Hi :)

Any reason you can't carry a dirt bike in a backcountry camper/photography mule?
You are missing my not so subtle expression of the fact that I am not really wanting my wife to take over my new van :). I race in an Enduro series here in BC, Canada so therefore I need the whole van to myself :).
In reality, the van will become a hybrid, it still needs to be able to carry up to 3 Enduro bikes and all the associated gear, but I will still be using it to sleep in the night before the races etc.... any ideas on how to accomplish that will be gratefully received.
First on the list is insulation as the nights get chilly here, second is maybe an extra couple of seats, I have opted for the dual passenger seat but extra may be needed.
After that i'm open to ideas

The double seat pretty much stops being able to access the back without exiting the vehicle... Is there a solid partition involved too?

Invest time & effort designing & making the curtain to block off the cab with an insulated/laminated blanket for privacy & comfort... and easy storage/set up, etc. etc..

The cab area with windshield, windows and exposed sheetmetal is a huge drag for keeping the back comfortable!

Thanks for that Zoomyn, I realise that the double seat will restrict access but as it will be my daily driver and we have a 14 yr old daughter it was the only way to go...no partition and the curtain idea is in the forefront of planning. I am also looking for a way to add fly screens to the doors to allow cooler air into the van when it is hot..again any ideas gratefully received.

My daughter and son in law race offroad bikes. They discovered sound blankets as partitions work real well. Double layered and fitted to edges keeps the heat/cold in the cab and cuts down an incredible amount of noise from the rear. 72"x80" gives you lots of flexibility.

Also tie down tracks. I used the first style. Steadymate.

Those sounds blankets look interesting for sure, the tracks look useful but I already have an attachment system for my Enduro bike :)
