Hi!

Just purchased a 2016 Promaster 2500 high roof 136". I got one with the I-4 diesel and the driver side sliding door. I plan on converting it to passenger service for my family.

I plan on installing freedman GoSeat-ES seats in the back on Sure Loc Omni track.

My van is missing the rear quarter glass on both sides. I plan on Installing CR Laurence windows in the rear quarters. I have to call to see if they make a driver side window with the driver side slider.

I do have the passenger bench seat in the front. Would like to swap for a single passenger seat.

Otherwise, I had a great first drive. Still getting used to the AMT transmission. Driving it in Manhattan was not fun because the huge lag shifting from 1st to 2nd.

I plan on getting a wrap to change the color. I was wondering if you could wrap the bumpers, so that they would match the body color?

Welcome we will want to see what you do and how it goes. In the city the diesel may work out fine but stop and go and low speeds is not what that system likes. Get on the expressway and open it up for as long as you can once in a while. Keep us posted.

Welcome! We are considering upfitting a 136 for our daughter who just had a baby. We would like to get factory seating in the back. Does your van have seats or provisions for seats in the back?

All the best,
Hein

Hein,

There are no factory seating options for the rear in North America...

Hein,

That is correct. I did a lot of research on how I was going to unfit the pro master before I got it.

For HVAC, Webasto makes the London Auxillary/Supplimentary rear HVAC system:

https://www.webasto.com/us/markets-...-vehicle-specific-applications/ram-promaster/

For the seating, I am looking to getting these:

http://freedmanseating.com/seats_and_accessories/passenger_seats/go_es_seat/

The seats are highly customizable, and allow for various mounting options. I envision my van being multipurpose. I would like the ability to remove all the seats, for when I need to move large, bulky items.

To allow for this, I am going to use sure-lok's omni L Track:

http://sure-lok.com/products/omni/

Using the track and the L track seat stud fitting, I should be able to remove all the seats and have a full cargo van.

The sure-lok is what Fiat installs in the passenger version of the Ducato.

My van didn't come with the factory wood floor, so I am going to install some ¾" ply first, and then recess the track for a smooth surface.

For the flooring, I was thinking about using the BedRug Van-Rug:

The speakers are terrible, and need to be replaced with something of quality. Will be adding speakers and a small TV in the back. The Freedman seats have optional 12v and 110v outlets that I plan on getting. Will use the unfit connecter to supply relay control for the 12v and 110v systems.

Thanks for the advice. Being a sprinter owner, I am very familiar about the Diesel Regen cycle. :)

Ram doesn't make a passenger version of the Promaster in the US.

To make my rear conversion I plan on using Sure-Lok Omni L Track to mount the seats:
http://sure-lok.com/products/omni/

This will allow me to easily remove the seats. I will be able to move them back and forth, to fine tune position, and be able to have only certain seats in, so I carry long, or wide objects.

For seats, I am going to use Freedman Seating's Go-ES seats:
http://freedmanseating.com/seats_and_accessories/passenger_seats/go_es_seat/

I can get a 3 point harness, and integrated child car seat LATCH connectors. They have 1000's of colors for the seat cushions, so I can find a close match to the factory front seats.

For the HVAC, I plan on getting a Webasto London HVAC system:
https://www.webasto.com/us/markets-...-vehicle-specific-applications/ram-promaster/

It'll hook up to the existing compressor and heater core, and doesn't require an external unit.

I plan on making the interior panels myself, using a nice commercial grade carpet on the lower part of the walls, and a heavy duty vinyl, that closely matches the cab's walls, for the upper portion and head liner.

I will be using dynomat throughout the entire cargo area, including the floor, to help dampen vibration, and help with road noise.

And finally, I am having 2 passenger side CR Laurence windows installed in the rear panels. Since I have dual sliding doors, no one makes a rear window for the driver side with a slider. That opening will have to be "massaged" to fit the window.

After talking to the Webasto sales rep, I'm leaning toward the interior panels from Medallion Plastics. The headliner looks really well made. I've been reading up on Medallion Plastics on the forum. Hopefullly, I'll be able to find a dealer some where near the NY metro area so I can pickup the panels. :)
