So I got the PM back today from the body shop after being there two weeks. I still have a wrecked van. Apparently, no one in the country has a right rear door with glass for a 2014 low roof. They went ahead and straightened out the rear panels as much as they could without having a straight door to gauge it off of, and put a new glass in the old door so I could work out of it again. They said it could be three days or three months before they see the door. They also ordered it from four different places to make sure they get one first. Anyways, does anyone maybe have a connection in the auto body world that I could even maybe source a used one that isnt dented?? I hate seeing this dented door on my otherwise perfect van.

Thanks in advance
Rod

Have they tried ordering one from Europe? They can't be that much different from the thousands of Ducato doors available new or used from hundreds of dealers, shops, breakers (junkyards,) etc. Shipping to the US may double the price but they are not that expensive to start with!

The Ducato uses different hinges so I would not risk it. See photo.

agm,

I've seen a number of part for sale on eBay that came from crashed Promaster vans. Might be worth contacting some of the sellers and asking if they have a back door you could buy. In a few listings they show the van that they are selling parts from, and it seems like the front usually gets "crunched", so maybe there are some nice, unbent doors out there.

for example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2014-RAM-PR...ash=item235c61e86f:g:PlcAAOSwTapV3fB-&vxp=mtr

or: http://www.ebay.com/itm/RAM-PROMAST...ash=item2108b37a18:g:zvwAAOSwqYBWm84p&vxp=mtr

...but probably not: http://www.ebay.com/itm/14-15-RAM-P...958545?hash=item35f897b511:g:33cAAOSwFqJWi-e4

Good luck in your quest!

There are dirrerent door hinges for Fiat Ducato and some changed over time.
The ones in the Ram Promaster should be similar to this one.

Ram Promaster it seems to me derived from Fiat Ducato in production in 2012.
All metal body parts of Ram Promaster are manufactured in the same plant as european Fiat Ducato (Sevel Sud plant in Italy) and than sent to the mexican Toluca plant.

Would that be the same place as the Mexican Saltillo Plant?

Toluca is a car plant, Saltillo is trucks and Promaster now as well.

Toluca builds Journeys, Fiat 500, Fiat Freemont

I believe the Ducato comes standard with 180° hinges, and the 260° hinges are optional. For whatever reason, FCA decided to make the 260° hinges standard on the ProMaster.

I assume the door stampings are the same, regardless of hinge type; but, I'd verify this somehow before paying to ship a door from Europe.
