Major oil leak after hitting bottom

Happy 38th day of 2022 to you all.

We were in a nearby desert state park this entire past weekend. I was driving my 2016 Promaster City Tradesman on Saturday morning and bottomed out a couple times on the dirt road. After driving back to our campsite in the late afternoon, I saw that the Low Oil indicator had lighted up, so I decided to carpool with someone else who drives a higher clearance SUV the following morning.

We came back yesterday afternoon, and I had to put in 4 quarts of oil before departing the park area. I stopped at a couple gas stations along the way and checked the dipstick. The level was the same as when I left the park area. Last night I drove and parked 79 miles away from where I had put in the oil.

Fast forward to noon today, there's a puddle of oil beneath my van, and the tip of the dipstick is nearly bone dry.

I can't get underneath the van till I clean up all the oil, and plus I don't have a lift in this public parking lot.

Have any of you experienced this before? If so, what was the leaky part? Did you have a cracked oil pan?

General unsolicited advice : Never drive with low / no oil, or with any oil light on.

That's why I decided to carpool the following morning. The Low Oil indicator came on AFTER I parked at the campsite.

The oil pans are not protected at all on the ProMaster City. It's possible that you punched a hole in it. The oil pans are also prone to corrosion. I replaced my oil pan at 194,000 miles.

I know this is old but I had a semi drop a Ice boulder in front of me and it went under the vehicle. I was waiting for all my dash warning lights to come on. They did not and I got home. In the morning there was oil leaking. The pan got crushed and because of how bad it was rusted it was leaking at one of the creases. Had to replace the pan.

So assuming there's no plate or guard available, does the area lend itself to fabricating and installing your own?

I have not looked if it is possible to protect it. Also my oil filter was dented so that almost got knocked off.
