I was crawling around under my Promaster today, trying to figure out where I might run an auxiliary power wire, and I noticed that the heat shield at the bottom of the gas filler tube was loose. On closer inspection, I found that one (flimsy) nut was missing. I think I'll replace it with a nylon nut, which should resist vibration(?). I saw that Dwight posted about this same problem in another thread, I suspect that this may be a common problem. I have attached a picture to help you know what to look for. I only have about 3,000 miles on mine, so, if it vibrated loose, it didn't take long!
