I really thing you should have a competent independent mechanic look at that before you drive it again.Brake pedal is loose so it is constantly activated but not so much that it slows the van down. Any advice on how to fix this? Couldn’t find anything online. Thanks in advance!
If we answer like that to everyone then this forum will be of no use…I really thing you should have a competent independent mechanic look at that before you drive it again.
I didn't say he shouldn't try to fix it. I suggested he shouldn't drive it.If we answer like that to everyone then this forum will be of no use…![]()
Understandable yes completely but at least we can try to maybe find out what’s the problem first. Just my opinionI didn't say he shouldn't try to fix it. I suggested he shouldn't drive it.
Maybe you don't understand how potentially dangerous it is to drive with a "loose" brake pedal. Death? Loss of life? Other vehicles? Pedestrians?![]()
Sounds like similar problem I have. Just picked up couple of used promaters and I have esc trouble and all kind stuff caused by loose brake pedal. Turns out the white plastic piece behind the pedal is worn and broke off leaving some gap between pedal and rod that goes to master cylinder. Pedal sensor is now always on causing brake lights on and computer thinks i have a foot on the brake.. I tried driving with both feet to pull the pedal back up as I had other foot on gas and no lights and perfect. I would check how much it's worn. Could be something minor like that making it look worse than it actually is. If you don't see anything wrong, than definitely time for mechanic shop or stealership.. as for mine I started looking for the replacement plastic piece, but I may have to make one with some metal for longevity.Brake pedal is loose so it is constantly activated but not so much that it slows the van down.
