New here. Looking at buying a ProMaster. Using 1998 2500 Ram Van now with 260,000 miles.

Indianapolis or Daytona? Welcome, I'd say the Ram van is fully broken in. My son has a '98 or '99 1500 pickup with less than 100K and he has had so many problems it's not nice to mention. You are going to love a new Ram- Way better vehicle!

The 3.0L diesel has an iron block, forged steel crank and the necessary individually fitted bearings. The Transit diesel has a cast iron crank so Ford can assemble the engine without requiring individually sized bearings.
If you want longevity and commercial use go with a forged crank.
Nothing forged on the 3.6 gas.
