I bought a mostly converted 2018 1500. Love the build, just need to make a few adjustments (guessing I’ll be saying that for years to come!)

My van has reflectix behind cedar shiplap, but there are three places in particular with no insulation that I’m considering adding to: above, along the left side and along the right side of the rear doors. The bed is right next to the doors you see in the photos, so I figure a little more insulation can’t hurt.

I’m considering covering these spots with more wood paneling, and maybe a shelf or two, but wondering — should I insulate first?

There are wires running in each of these cavities, so I’m not sure if it would be safe to stuff wool in there.

Any suggestions? Should I insulate these spots at all? What would you use?

We used Havelock wool throughout and found it easy to insert into those spots beside and above the doors, as well as the ribs along the ceiling.
