If You Have Purchased Or Ordered A 2023 Promaster

I am planning to order a 2023 Promaster in the coming weeks - 1500 high roof in my case.

KBB is indicating that I should pay something like 10 percent off of MSRP for the vehicle right now, and I understand that prices may be declining week-by-week at this point.

If you have purchased or ordered a 2023 Promaster in the last few weeks, I would appreciate information on the final price.

Either a percentage off MSRP or relative to Invoice Price would be helpful to me, and I assume to others as well.

Thanks

Ordered the Promaster 3500 HR Extended on March 27, 2023 and was given a VIN number April 25, 2023. Dealer said it was unusual to get it this fast but not unheard of.
I added my information to the spreadsheet.

  1. Order Confirmed. Sep-10-2022
  2. Scheduled. Oct-12-2022
  3. In Production. Jan-27-2023
  4. Vehicle Built. Jan-28-2023
Still waiting on shipping, although it says estimated delivery is 4/10/2023. I’ll believe it when I get the call from the dealer that it is there…
An update, now the tracker is saying 6/15/2023 for estimated delivery. Oh no.
I added to the spreadsheet
Update: phoned the dealer last week, van is still on schedule from my earlier (~2 months ago) post, 2500PM 159 HR , ordered 10-14-22, est. ship date 6-7-23 est. delivery 6-23-23. on tracking website it only says order confirmed Feb 1 , scheduled Mar 16. I put it on the spreadsheet.
Mine is also scheduled for 3/16, dealer told me ship date of 6/7/23.
Finally in production! Ordered July 7 2022, confirmed January 13th, in production 05/23/23

Wow! What is unique about your build that took almost a year? (Mine took 6 months from order to delivery.)

3500 159 EXT HR with swivels?
You had to be a pretty big deal to get swivels, ACC, or a window van over the last year or so.

Awww shucks. You’re just saying that…

Only 2 days on the assembly line. Hope they let the paint dry.

I can close my eyes and imagine my van telling all the other vans how his dad is cooler than their dads!

I keep coming back to the thought. Imagine how many of these vans they could sell if they could pump them out and keep some stock of them. Unless they are pumping them out and they're getting gobbled up that quick.
According to Ram Build Tracker my order is processed as of 12 May '23, no scheduled production date. Dealer #2 order date was 14 April '23. Dealer #1 order date 7 April '23 still not in system. Dealer #1 seems to be talking BS to me.

I drive by an Amazon distribution site many times a week. They receive new additions to their fleet often. I have seen caravans of 50 new arrivals at a time. This is only one of 150+ distribution sites. And, Amazon is probably paying in the range of 25k per unit for their patronage. If ordering a 3500 it might explain the wait, just to get a sway bar. And, all other models ...... get in line.

At both of the dealers I visited, there are no fewer than 8 Amazon units waiting for service - transmission replacements - claims the service department . But the consensus comment about transmission replacements, they are fleet vehicles driven by low wage employment that have no investment or care in the vehicle.

Anyone have an idea of a location of late model wrecked PM's ?

Did you place an order with 2 different dealerships one week apart?
Mine was ordered end of September 2022 and it arrived yesterday May 30, 2023.

Yes. I had visited Dealer #1 beginning in late March '23 to discuss the build options and get a sense of their fulfillment timeline (4-5 months they claimed, based on recent orders). I placed an order on 8April23 with deposit. Days after I noticed one option had not made it to the POC-Priced Order Confirmation. The adjustment was made and order modified 13April23. At the end of the order session the salesperson I had been dealing with made several comments, none I thought necessary or provoked. "you can cancel at any time" "we don't care if you take it or not" "we'll make more money by selling it off the lot" aka Market Adjustment. After those comments and delivering copies of signed Purchase Agreement he suddenly had many things he had to get to. No further opportunity to ask sales related or delivery scenario questions. I no longer had a good impression / feeling about this transaction.

I had been to Dealer#2 also in late March'23 (closer to work and home). No clear reason why I didn't order from them in the first place. Dealer #1 appeared helpful initially, but certainly less after paper exchanged.

I returned to Dealer#2 on 17April23. When I met with the salesperson previously spoken with he stated he was about to call me. The dealership had just received an allocation of 3 ProMasters. One had been committed to. I would have a #2 slot if wanted. I had my established order from Dealer#1 in hand. The identical order with Dealer#2 was drawn up, deposit made, Purchase Agreement delivered. No clauses added to contract about 'purchase price may increase'.
The subject of price increases had already been discussed at length as there had been a $1000 increase in base MSRP on 1April23. I missed out on that saving at both dealers.

Via Ram Build Tracker I have an Order Confirmation and VIN as of 12May23 for the vehicle ordered from Dealer#2.
I have no info for the vehicle ordered from Dealer#1. As of 30May23 Dealer#1 says they "just don't know". #1 does not know I had placed another order. I will be going for my deposit (clearly refundable, but only $250) from them very shortly.

I like to trust people. I have a reason to, it makes for better living. But I do need to acknowledge there is an abundance of No Knowledge. Salespeople are just trying to provide their service the best they can. Maybe I had a professional BS generator. Maybe that vehicle ordered first will miraculously get into the production cycle and be here in two months. Either way, there is likely to be an extra no windows, swivel seat, convenience group, trailer hitch, 115v dash outlet, basic cruise control, 2 extra keys, spare tire, 2500 HR 159, silver metallic in Western MA at some point later this year.

To answer your question in short -- Yes. I did order the same vehicle from 2 dealers one week apart.
