I've recently installed a weBoost Drive Reach RV in the compartment of my van that contains some other electronic equipment, specifically a NetGear router and an Arlo video camera hub.

After less than 90 minutes, the compartment temperature is over 153°F, as shown in the enclosed photo.

WeBoost tech support says "It is rare for a booster to get up to 150°F, but it is possible."

Does anyone have experience with this cell booster, in particular with problems caused by overheating?

thanks,
Mike

We have the cheapest WeBoost. It can easily get too hot to handle comfortable. We use it rarely and only plug it in then.

I could heat my van with the heat that comes off our modem and router at home.
I would think you need a lot of airflow to keep the temp within safe range

Our knock-off we-boost gets hot, but not enough to cause problems. It's attached to the ceiling an unenclosed cubby above the slider. We don't leave it on all the time since it seems to reduce the speed of strong signals. We only turn it on if we are getting 1 bar (maybe 2). We don't use it as much as I thought we would. Zero bars is way more common than one bar here in the west.
