Easy Access Propane Shutoff

208 2
I’ve been trying to think of a safe and easy to access way to shut off my propane system when not in use. I have a side load propane locker underneath my cooktop next to my sliding door. So I will easily be able to access my propane system from the living area, I was thinking of sticking a fireplace quarter turn shutoff valve through the side of the propane locker. Like this one

I like how clean it will look on the side of my cabinet. Don’t love the idea of keeping up with the key but I’ll get a spare and if worst comes to worst I can just shut off the tank. Does anyone see a problem with this?

I have thought about making some kind of a mechanical linkage to shut off my propane tank at the tank valve. Nothing brilliant has come to mind.

The ferries that we have taken the van on have been pretty much honor system as far as shutting off the propane. I think the intention is to shut off the propane at the tank using the valve on the tank.

Not an expert, just my random thoughts.
