We have found a few exceptional places to eat as we cross North America. Some are humble and tiny, others expansive and proud. All offer great food, local specialities or some regional BLISS. I will list a few and ask you to add any that you would like us to visit. You all have a great one nearby don’t you? Please give an address the GPS or phone mapping can follow, what sort of place they are, relative value or cost. Additional features or some "have to have” item when there would be great. Here are a few that come to mind:
Pap’s Place, 125 E Main St, Ackerman, MS 39735. Buffett. Lunch and dinner. Closed Wednesday, Southern food with the locals. Wonderful welcoming and interesting decorations. Prices reasonable. Eat the catfish! "We're not here to rob you honey; we're just here to fill yo' belly!" https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g29617-d626870-Reviews-Pap_s_Place-Ackerman_Mississippi.html
Sophia’s 530 W Pima St, Gila Bend, AZ 85337 Want to eat “real Mexican?” Don’t want to go to Mexico to get it? This is the place. Get a Burrito-Enchilada style, and plan to split it as you don’t want to die of food happiness just yet. Inexpensive. Open all day, all week. They won’t bring you the bill just go to the counter when you are done. https://www.yelp.com/biz/sofias-mexican-food-gila-bend
Wayside Restaurant 1873 US Route 302, Montpelier, Vermont 05602. Yankee comfort food, Salt pork gravy for breakfast, Doughnuts your grammy made, Cackleberrys $1.25 Find some change from the couch and that will cover it. https://www.waysiderestaurant.com
Newicks Lobster House. 431 DOVER PT. RD. DOVER, NH. Not the only great lobster place but one of the oldest and good, since 1948. Have a lobster of course! Duh. Plan to empty your cash reserve as all lobster dinners are spendy but what the hey! They are a small chain now but this is the one to go to. http://www.newicks.com
