2014 Ram Promaster 2500 159" diesel
My alternator quit alternating I drove it 1350 miles it took 3 days plus 1.5 hours. With 300 watts on the roof, 800 amps of battery and under full sun it could keep the batteries up maybe a slight charge. First day light overcast in the morning to partly overcast in the afternoon, second day partly overcast in the morning to full sun in the afternoon, third day gray clouds and rain with a stop to charge the batteries some, with a gas generator and two battery chargers. The fourth day rain but only drove 1.5 hours to home. This with no radio, no a/c and no heat. I did run the parking heater when cold, it uses less amps than the van heater. If the alternator was top side I would have it fixed by now, but it's on the bottom of the engine and no visible wires I can trace from the top. It's one of three things a loose wire, the PCM (power control module) or the alternator.
