I just picked up a small chip in mine right below the WW blade. The glass shop was able to fix it and my insurance covered it no cost.
Some states have no deductable on glass and others $100. Depending where you live and your insurance company it shouldn't really cost a lot. These windshields attract stones. I put three in my Sprinter in ten years and I would expect the same with a Promaster. It cost me $100 each time I had to replace the Sprinter one.
