I purchased a Promaster Van. I'm a contractor. I carry a lot of tools and equipment.

So this week I bring my van in for it's first service.....and with Business Link the service guy told me I will be getting a Ford Focus as a loaner for use that day.

Something doesn't seem quite right with that...........

What's the problem, fold down the back seat , open the trunk, slide pipe up to the dashboard. Pipe threader goes through the sunroof.

I signed up for Business Link. I'm in Jacksonville Fl and neither of our CJD dealerships are Business Link dealerships, or will service a promaster for that matter. 25 miles for me to the nearest servicing dealer. 50 miles to the nearest Business Link dealer. Not sure if it's worth the extra drive, especially as the Business Link dealer acted like they don't know what Business Link is.
I'm not getting why the BL dealers seem to be outside of major cities. One dealership said they would have to upgrade their facilities to qualify for business link, that could be one reason.

I'm a contractor also. I found that business link made it easier for them to get reimbursed for a loaner. Other than that, nothing special.

However in my case they would only loan me a Chrysler. There was a Chevy work van there but instead I ended up with a brand-new loaded town and country minivan. All the seats folded down though and I was able to get six sheets of drywall, four pieces of plywood, studs, and all my tools. It was nice at lunch to watch movies since I had the loaner for 14 days while they replaced my starter.

Now that you mention it (thanks), I see that OPCJD is listed. That is where I got my cel service done. They have a bad reputation, but were the only ones who would service a promaster without me driving 1 hour plus. When I made my appointment they said they had no idea what business link was. When I arrived, I told my service rep I was a business link member and he looked at me confused... I said it's an FCA program that allows priority service and a loner. He looked at me like I had two heads and said bluntly "we don't do loaners, and it's going to be AWHILE"

When I bought the van last week and signed up for BL I was told that there were no BL dealers in my area. Could it be that they just became BL?
Either way, I'm happy to see they are listed, maybe it will come into play next time.

Pretty much the same for me. I just had my first experience with them. After my first call to the service department, I immediately called another closer RAM dealer, who of course, was not authorized to work on Promasters. My concerns were mostly confirmed. They don't have a clue and I don't think that having an appointment makes a difference. That said, everyone was nice and I had a good experience with their parts guy.

I think that I would go to Waycross or Palatka if I required extensive work.

FYI, while I wish that my fuel rail had not disengaged on my cross country trip due to not being locked at the factory, I had a great experience with the Business link dealer in Memphis TN. They seemed like a first class outfit if you are in that area. Fortunately it was diesel instead of gas or I might not be here to write this!

After I called OP to make an appointment and they acted like they had no idea about business link, I called Beck in Palatka and left a message, called again... another message. They never called back, still haven't. That leaves me conflicted about where my next visit will be. Likely OP, hopefully they get their BL straightened out.

Overall, I did have a good experience at OP thanks to Dennis- the lead diesel tech.

I am here in Jax too and it is pathetic that the nearest (at my time of purchase) dealer is in Palatka. While I had a pretty good time dealing with them, service now is falling a bit short. And to drive about 1.5hrs 1-way from Atlantic Beach to Palatka is terrible. There is a massive dealer right off of I-295 and they wouldn't even change the oil.

I just called Beck about my replacement driver side mirror they supposedly ordered on 4/20. To my surprise, the parts department couldnt find that it ever had been ordered. Still waiting for a call back 3 hours later...

I also asked the dealer about Business Link and they just made it seem like everything was setup but I called the Business Link number to verify and nope my van isn't. It is terrible that you have to ask for something that is offered to you from a company.

It's a shame that FCOA singled out this one vehicle to require essentially its own dealership franchise. It's bad when any dealer without this special francise cannot even change your oil! The dealer in Yulee FL indicated that they are not authorized to perform any work on Promasters. Looks like we have the same service issues as Sprinter owners when it comes to finding a repair facility...perhaps worse due to mass confusion.

Business link appears to offer little to no value, at least in the JAX market. The dealer in Albuquerque, NM (Melloy) has a dedicated business link customer service agent! I wish that were the rule rather than the exception. It feels like for many dealerships Businesslink is all about marketing and nothing to do with service.

Glad I got the business link... First time it was in they wanted to give me a car... nope.. terms of business link is they have to provide you with a comparable vehicle... NOT a car. Every time mine has gone in, they have provided me with a van from the local Enterprise commercial truck place.. First time it was a Chevy full size... the last 4 times it has been a Promaster.
