The last Ram we bought we just asked for and received the employee-friends-family pricing. It is listed on the invoice and that is how I negotiated. My target was a price at Invoice and that seemed to be around Invoice price, maybe
15% off MSRP or so.
Does anyone know if that is about as good a deal as you can get?
My previous four or five purchases I would just call around dealers until I could get them to commit to to a price + or - Invoice depending on how hard the truck was to get. Generally I got a price right at Invoice, recently got a new one at Invoice -$500 but had to wait three months.
I absolutely do not like going into the dealer and prefer the phone or email negotiating.

I am looking at a new full size Promaster (already have a City) and prefer to make offers relative to an Invoice price. That way it does not matter what options I end up with during the search as I get a commitment from dealer that I will only pay, Invoice plus $250 for example, not counting any eligible incentives at time of purchase.

So..that being said...what should I pay relative to Invoice for a 2015 or 2016 Promaster and feel good about it? Want a white gasser and have not settled on the size, but it won't be the biggest one.

There are people on this board that paid several thousand back of invoice. The reason? Right vehicle, right place, right time.

My advice since you want white is to do a search on every dealer driving distance from you and find some 2015's or maybe even 2014's. See what they are already discounting under invoice and then get on the phone with the Fleet or Commercial Manager and start talking numbers.

15% off MSRP has been done many times here. $500 or a bit more under invoice is about the same. I got 13% off MSRP and ordered a van so that can be done too. 2014's are still sitting but you better expect some small warrantee fixes. 2015's should be widely available and more than 15% under I would guess.

I would set 20% off MSRP as minimum. This time of year you should be getting close to 25% off. There are plenty out there, go to the largest and highest volume dealers and let them fight over your business.

Years ago when I was a consultant, I faxed a "Request to Bid" on company letterhead to the 5 closest Acura dealers looking for an Integra. On the fax I identified my self as the Fleet Manager for my company, asking to provide the "Out the door" price on a specific model vehicle. 3 faxed me back with a price that was MSRP minus about $300, one faxed back with a slightly bigger discount, and the last dealer sent back a very low quote that was basically invoice minus $250. I faxed back the lowest bidder, had them confirm the quote and provide their banking details. They sent me a contract to sign and I wired the funds to their account. I then faxed back that I was going to send one of the guys from the "motor pool" to pick the car up. I walked in the next day and said I was here to pick up a car for company X, and they gave me the keys and pointed to it outside. I didn't have to sit through the finance manager trying to sell me $900 fabric protection or $1300 paint protection, I didn't have to listen to any BS about extended warranties, and I didn't have to listen to any offers for financing. I said I was just the driver sent to pick up the car, took the keys and drove away. I figure I saved about 22% off of MSRP and was in the dealership less than 10 minutes.

That was the best part of your deal!

Mine was an order-purchase by email from AZ to the best price dealer in NH, $500 under invoice, simple as GapRunr and no sales hassle on closing at the dealer as I never talked to a regular sales person. Ba ba boom!

My 2016 was a bit more then 20%off Sticker. Went thru the fleet sales DEPT, no BS just sign and drive. I do have a long relationship with the local dealer and was also at one time an employee of another branch of the company. Regardless, most fleet sales dept's will sell significantly less and minimal if any BS.
Enjoy the new PM

I am looking at a 2015 2500 long wheel base tall cargo van. The Sticker says $36,780 it has nearly every bell and whistle, including weathergaurd drop down ladder rack and inside HVAC shelving. The dealer has it marked up to $48,000 with all the aftermarket equipment. Salesman offered to sell it to me for $34,721 plus tax title and plates. attached is all the options this one comes with.

I just recently got a brand new gasser off the lot for $22,400. Sticker was right at $32K. So 10K off, around 30%. Deals are out there if you are willing to fly in and pick it up. The best deals are from dealerships that are done selling promasters and just looking to get them off their lots.

What dealer did you buy from? I'm willing to travel.
Thanks

I just purchased a brand new 2014 with MSRP of $33,235 and I paid $22,500, which is about 32% off. Had to drive 11 hours, but got well over blue book for a trade-in too. It's a 2014, so it has the better warranty and considering the MSRPs have gone up, I'm super happy with the deal.

Andrew Ryan from Lawton Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Lawton, OK was our sales guy and was great to work with. The dealership got us in out quickly.

We are about to get our van today. We didn't mind getting a leftover 15 so got 26.5% off MSRP. It's a 1500 118 low Eco Diesel. We initially were thinking we wanted the taller, longer van but after many, many test drives we liked how the smaller van drove better. You can always use the extra space, but these vans are way bigger than regular vans so we think we have plenty of room for our needs.

Checkout Bluebonnet Chrysler in New Braunsfels, TX. Give them a call. Want to talk to James or Montey in the commercial fleet dept. They hooked me up with a 2015 2500 Promaster EcoDiesel. They deal with people from all over the U.S. so no one should have a problem dealing with them.
