I have added a rear view camera to 2017 Promaster 2500 hightop ... eRapta kit ... this is in addition to the backup camera it came with.

I don't have windows out the back doors. And I have problems seeing traffic approaching from the right. So I added a Color Monitor to the useless rear view mirror and two cameras.

Here is the first video. Starts with an unpacking, mounting the rear view camera, snaking the cable, taking down the Driver A-pillar Document Holder, figuring out the wiring, accessing the battery, figuring out the fuse, and successful wiring everything up. 19 minutes

We've got two cameras as well.
Windows/visibility in the PM reminds me of a tree by the house.
The tree can provide shade but it can also fall on the house.
A windowless PM is easier to heat or cool but harder to navigate.
I'd like to think in our build we struck a middle ground with windows
but we saw the beauty of cameras.
The in-dash is great for backing up but the one on top of the roof/brake light
area sees everything--8 lanes of traffic and it sees it. Of course things are closer
than they appear :)
We almost always have two bikes on a Fiamma and in the high position. You'd think
blocking that camera but it still sees everything.

Nice install. Lots of details for others who want to add the camera as an add on, or in addition to the factory BU camera (with a way too small screen)

Welcome.. you're off to a great start here on the forum!
