2624 miles with 91 octane = 15.08 mpg
2950 miles with 87 octane = 13.95 mpg
5574 miles altogether w/both =14.46 mpg
for all these miles computer in van shows 15.2 mpg

About 15-20% freeway. I am actually trying to drive for good gas mileage and I am pretty disappointed with what I am getting after hearing what others say they get. It does beat my Dodge 3500 van that gets about 11 or 12 mpg. But I'd race the dealer for pinks.

to travel 1000 miles with 87 octane @ $2.312/gallon would cost $165.73

to travel 1000 miles with 91 octane at $2.828/gallon would cost $187.53

you do get 8% better mileage with the 91 octane which costs 13% more

the Federal Trade Commission, notes: “In most cases, using a higher-octane gasoline than your owner's manual recommends offers absolutely no benefit. It won't make your car perform better, go faster, get better mileage or run cleaner.”
