I am just getting very generic answers from them. They need to get the parts but they don't know when I'll be available and they are really trying the best they really feel bad for me. At least according to the lemon laws, they have 30 days to fix the vehicle. I am in the process of contacting an attorney to see if lemon laws of the only criteria.

Update. Part will be delivered to service dealership on the 19th. The selling dealership actually wanted the vehicle back so they could run their own diagnostics. I said no way no how. For starters they do not have a particularly good track record. Secondly, we all know that there is a high likelihood that their botched repair work is causing my current problems. There is no way that they will discover that it was their fault. To me, just smells like a trick to absolve themselves of responsibility. In any case, sending it back to the seller for diagnostics and repairs, would certainly slow down the process considerably. They would need to reorder parts and wait for them to come in, at the very least.

Update. The service dealership should have a replacement power control module by Monday or Tuesday. Once they have the parts, then they get to step One. They need to replace the module and then after that they need to figure out why the original one melted in in the first place. And I was approved for a rental. $50 a day max

The $50 a day does not quite cut it. Comparable vehicles easily a run $100 a day with the insurance. And that does not include the mileage charges. Remember, I am in New York City, where everything is a fortune.

Update. Just got Promaster back from service dealership. Everything seems to be functioning properly. I still plan to return the vehicle to place of purchase, in exchange for a full refund. I am attaching the report from the mechanic.

Still a nightmare but glad you were able to get your money back. Since it's going to be a 'work truck' is something like a Chevy Express not an option? They're cheaper and easier to find but maybe there's a reason for that, besides being a no-frills, previous-generation-style work van.

Here's a new one in Charlotte, NC for under $36K: https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/new/s...8&zip=29303#listing=337164820/NEWCAR_FEATURED

Update. Returned vehicle to seller and received full refund. Call from lawyer probably helped. On the hunt for a new ProMaster
What about your other costs due to this debacle? Will you consider small claims court to recover?

In my next life, I would like to come back as an attorney specializing in Promaster/dealer/warranty litigation.

Happy for you that you could dump that cash/time cow.
