Little did I realize when I asked the initial question, there are 1 million design options and more opinions than there are design options. I will attempt to design a solution that is simple, efficient and effective. Maybe then I will post it! šŸ˜Š

Very good insight. Thank you. It seems to me that it makes sense to have propane for water heater, heat source and cooktop while using 12v or 110v for microwave, washer, refrigerator. The microwave and washer would need power when in use whereas the refrigerator is a constant drain on power...

I have and will continue to read more about van builds. There is no standard set of systems with vans whereas with a house, there are not only standards, there are permits and rules. I am trying to keep it simple, but the mix of propane, 12v, 110v, wood burning, induction, etc. does make the...

With van life, there is not a lot of room for tons of clothes. So, to me having a compact washing machine (no dryer) allows me to wash small loads when I need to, The plan is to have the washer/closet next to the shower. The bottom half of the closet will be the washer and the top half will be...

Thanks, Gary - great details. As for heating and AC, I forgot to add it to my list. I would like electric for heating and AC, but I have not done enough research on good heating options. What did you do for your van build? Randy

I appreciate the responses. Think of building a house. One would not install wiring outside the walls. If building a van was modeled after building a house, what would be the steps and the order?
